Literary Competition “Believe in the Power of Imagination”

2001

The Reja Foundation, in collaboration with Media Rodzina and Muza Publishers under the media patronage of Polish Radio Program III, Gazeta Wyborcza, and Guliwer, announced a literary competition for novels for children and young adults. The aim of the competition was to give Polish authors (including those living abroad) the opportunity to write works that resonate with the imagination of young readers, thereby enabling them to experience the joy of reading, which is becoming increasingly rare in our contemporary reality. In a world full of televisions and computers, children and young people can discover that an author writing with passion can introduce new readers to a world that exists in their imagination. A well-written book can be a source of joy and great fun, helping in understanding oneself and the world.

The competition rules provide for three main prizes of 15,000, 10,000, and 7,000 PLN, as well as 18 distinctions of 3,000 PLN each for the best work written by an author from each voivodeship and the best work written by an author residing outside of Poland.

The results of the competition were announced in mid-2002.
